About the Position
Newport Hospital, part of Brown University Health, is seeking a qualified CT Radiologic Tech to join our team. In this role, you will operate the CT Scanner and perform routine diagnostic radiology procedures for patients of all ages, including infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. You will be responsible for conducting a variety of CT exams, including head, abdomen, pelvis, and more, adhering to established protocols while ensuring patient safety and comfort. This position also involves prepping patients, administering contrast, setting up immobilization devices, and assisting radiologists with procedures such as abscess drainage and needle biopsies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing CT exams for patients of all ages, from infants to geriatrics.
- Administering contrast material and completing contrast questionnaires.
- Using immobilization devices and setting up Power Injector as required.
- Scheduling patients and assisting radiologists with specialized procedures.
- Utilizing Teleradiology, PACS, RIS systems, and creating CDs or film exams as requested.
- Maintaining equipment, setting up oxygen and suction when needed, and performing non-routine views.
- Independently managing all daily CT functions and responding to service calls.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- ARRT (RCT) registered with current State of Rhode Island Radiographer License and Diagnostic Computed Tomography License or ARRT (CT) with current State of Rhode Island Diagnostic Computed Tomography License.
- At least 3 months of experience performing diagnostic radiology or CT exams.
- Current CPR certification.
- Ability to lift 10-35 pounds, frequent bending and fine motor movement, and meet vision/hearing requirements as outlined.
Physical Requirements:
The position involves sitting for 7+ hours, walking 3-7 hours, and standing for 1-3 hours. You may need to lift 10-35 pounds, perform moderate twisting and frequent bending, and use both hands and wrists with frequent fine motor movement. Accurate near and far vision, depth perception, and color discrimination are required, as well as the ability to hear a whisper at three feet.
