About the Position
Rhode Island Hospital, part of Brown University Health, is seeking a skilled CT Scan Technologist to join our team. Under the supervision of the CT Scan Manager and Lead CT Scan Technologist, you will operate advanced CT scanners to produce high-quality diagnostic radiographs. You will ensure patient safety and comfort while adhering to best practices in radiologic imaging and patient care. This position is a full-time evening shift opportunity, ideal for technologists who thrive in a fast-paced hospital setting.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing routine and complex CT scan procedures following established imaging protocols.
- Ensuring proper patient positioning and comfort throughout each procedure.
- Administering contrast media and monitoring patients for adverse reactions.
- Operating state-of-the-art CT imaging systems, including 2D, 3D, 4D, MIP, VRE, and SSD imaging.
- Processing images and transferring them to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) for physician review.
- Performing quality control tests on imaging equipment and troubleshooting minor equipment issues.
- Assisting radiologists with biopsies, drainages, ablations (Cryogenic, RF, Microwave), and other special procedures.
- Maintaining accurate patient records, billing details, and quality assurance documentation.
- Providing training and in-service education for new staff and students.

Requirements
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in good standing.
- Valid Rhode Island state radiation license and CT supplemental license from the Department of Health.
- Current CPR certification (AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers).
- Two years of formal training in an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Minimum six months of experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a hospital radiology department, plus an additional six months of specialized CT scanner training.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, physicians, and healthcare teams.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
This position involves working in a hospital CT Scan department, requiring frequent standing, walking, lifting, and positioning patients. Exposure to radiation is minimized by following established safety precautions and protective measures.
