📸 What You'll Do

• Prepare and calibrate the MRI unit for daily operation.
• Select proper technical factors on an individual patient basis.
• Screen all patients and visitors prior to entry into the magnetic imaging area.
• Operate and navigate all pertinent IS software related to job functions.
• Record and maintain patient history from the patient’s chart or by interviewing the patient.
• Position patients for imaging to obtain satisfactory examinations and perform requested procedures.
• Utilize a wide variety of technical equipment to produce MRI images.
• Perform complex imaging of cross-sectional, sagittal, coronal, and obliquely generated MRI images.
• Assist the radiologist in developing new procedures and protocols.
• Participate in in-service educational programs for technical staff and other hospital support groups.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of specialized MRI technology.
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technology.
• Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, advanced MRI applications, and computer operations.
• Basic understanding of the operation of computer consoles.
• MRI certification through the ARRT (new grads may obtain within 90 days of hire).
• Interpersonal skills necessary to interface effectively with patients, families, and staff.
• Experience in Ultrasound, CT, Nuclear Medicine, DSA, and cross-sectional anatomy preferred.
• Ability to work in a healthcare environment with direct patient contact.
• Adherence to established safety procedures and precautions.
