📸 What You'll Do
- Prepare and calibrate the MRI unit for daily operation.
- Select proper technical factors on an individual patient basis.
- Screen all patients and visitors prior to entry into the magnetic imaging area.
- Operate and navigate all pertinent IS software related to job functions.
- Record and maintain patient history from the patient’s chart or by interviewing the patient.
- Position patients for imaging to obtain satisfactory examinations and perform requested procedures.
- Utilize a wide variety of technical equipment to produce MRI images.
- Perform complex imaging of cross-sectional, sagittal, coronal, and obliquely generated MRI images.
- Assist the radiologist in developing new procedures and protocols.
- Participate in in-service educational programs for technical staff and other hospital support groups.
Qualifications
- Thorough knowledge of specialized MRI technology.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technology.
- Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, advanced MRI applications, and computer operations.
- Basic understanding of the operation of computer consoles.
- MRI certification through the ARRT (new grads may obtain within 90 days of hire).
- Interpersonal skills necessary to interface effectively with patients, families, and staff.
- Experience in Ultrasound, CT, Nuclear Medicine, DSA, and cross-sectional anatomy preferred.
- Ability to work in a healthcare environment with direct patient contact.
- Adherence to established safety procedures and precautions.
