📸 What You'll Do
- Operate CT scanner and related equipment to produce radiographs of designated anatomical areas.
- Check and test calibration of equipment to ensure proper operation.
- Position patients and equipment, selecting appropriate scan settings.
- Collect and complete computerized and manual records on patient data.
- Screen patients for proper diet preparation, drug and food sensitivity, and pregnancy.
- Prepare and administer contrast medium and saline to patients.
- Monitor patients and equipment during the scan process for any changes in condition.
- Perform specialized non-routine computer functions to assist in diagnosis.
- Analyze equipment problems and make minor repairs and adjustments.
- Provide in-service education for students and staff technologists.
Qualifications
- Registered and in good standing with the American Registry of Radiological Technology (ARRT).
- Current CPR certification from AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers.
- RI state radiation license and CT supplemental license from the DOH.
- Two years of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
- Six months of experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a hospital radiology department.
- In-depth knowledge of diagnostic radiologic procedures and computerized tomographic equipment.
- Interpersonal skills to effectively interface with patients, families, and staff.
