📸 What You'll Do
- Comply with hospital and department policies and procedures, ensuring patient confidentiality.
- Operate ultrasound equipment efficiently and maintain aseptic conditions during invasive procedures.
- Review clinical data to alert healthcare providers of potential contradictions for procedures.
- Perform ultrasonic scanning procedures and exams, including abdominal echoes, dopplers, and biopsies.
- Record patient history and clinical data to facilitate optimum diagnostic results.
- Position and instruct patients to obtain desired diagnostic results.
- Assist physicians in procedures by confirming locations using ultrasound equipment.
- Send imaging and technical notes to PACS and review daily procedures.
- Order and store supplies, ensuring expiration dates are checked and expired materials are disposed of properly.
- Provide clinical experience for ultrasound students, instructing and guiding them through procedures.
Qualifications
- ARDMS certification required.
- ARDMS registration required for new graduates within 6 months of graduation from an approved school.
- Analytical skills to determine the best method for obtaining diagnostic results.
- Interpersonal skills to effectively deal with patients under stress and collaborate with staff and physicians.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care across the lifespan, considering aging processes and cultural patterns.
- One year of progressive ultrasound experience preferred.
