📸 What You'll Do

  • Comply with hospital and department policies and procedures, ensuring patient confidentiality.
  • Operate ultrasound equipment efficiently and maintain aseptic conditions during invasive procedures.
  • Review clinical data to alert healthcare providers of potential contradictions for procedures.
  • Perform ultrasonic scanning procedures and exams, including abdominal echoes, dopplers, and biopsies.
  • Record patient history and clinical data to facilitate optimum diagnostic results.
  • Position and instruct patients to obtain desired diagnostic results.
  • Assist physicians in procedures by confirming locations using ultrasound equipment.
  • Send imaging and technical notes to PACS and review daily procedures.
  • Order and store supplies, ensuring expiration dates are checked and expired materials are disposed of properly.
  • Provide clinical experience for ultrasound students, instructing and guiding them through procedures.

Qualifications

  • ARDMS certification required.
  • ARDMS registration required for new graduates within 6 months of graduation from an approved school.
  • Analytical skills to determine the best method for obtaining diagnostic results.
  • Interpersonal skills to effectively deal with patients under stress and collaborate with staff and physicians.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care across the lifespan, considering aging processes and cultural patterns.
  • One year of progressive ultrasound experience preferred.
